Back

EMAIL to EPWU Water Resource Manager 6/12/09

Please read the following statements from the EPWU web site. The table in statement 1 shows that additional water supply will be needed in 2010. Statement 2 indicates that the existing water supply is sufficient for 50 years and beyond. Which statement is true. Have you revised the table in statement 1?

Statement 1:

The 2006 regional plan provided for meeting all future non agricultural demands in El Paso County through the adoption of Alternative 6, which included conjunctive use of local surface and groundwater resources, continued conservation, expansion of reclaimed water use, and the importation of groundwater from the Dell City area and from the Capita Reef Aquifer, located southeast of Dell City. A summary of Alternative 6 is presented in the table presented below. Other potential imported supplies identified in other alternatives from Antelope Ranch and Wildhorse Ranch will not be used prior to 2060 under the adopted alternative.
